Leicester is a majority-minority city with one of the most settled and prosperous Muslim communities in Britain, concentrated in a band running east and north-east from the city centre — Highfields, Spinney Hills, Stoneygate and Belgrave, with Belgrave Road known locally as the Golden Mile. The Muslim population is predominantly South Asian: Gujarati Indian Muslim families whose roots are in Gujarat, alongside Pakistani, Bangladeshi and a long-established Somali community.
What distinguishes Leicester is how established it is. Many of our Leicester students are from families where the grandparents built the masjids and the parents grew up in them. The result is a community with high expectations of Quran teaching and very little patience for a class where a child sits waiting their turn.

Leicester’s Muslim community is primarily Gujarati Indian Muslim, Pakistani and Bangladeshi, with a significant Somali population. Gujarati, Urdu, Punjabi and Bengali are spoken at home. Teaching is delivered in English, with Urdu support on request.
Leicester weekday slots run 4pm–10pm and weekends 10am–8pm. The 5pm and 6pm slots fill first. A note for Leicester families specifically: many children here attend madrasah on Belgrave Road or in Highfields straight after school, so if your child is out until 7pm, the 7:30pm or weekend slots are usually the realistic option — and a weekend-only arrangement used purely for Tajweed works very well.

Yes. Qualified female tutors are available for girls and for adult sisters, and can be requested when you book. If the pairing does not work after the first lesson we will change it.
We do, and Leicester is where we teach the most Gujarati-speaking families. Lessons are in English with the Arabic taught through the Qaida method, so there is no friction between the language spoken at home and the way your child learns to read.
Packages start at £35 a month for two weekend classes and go up to £87 a month for five weekday classes, with £47 and £70 options in between. Every new Leicester student gets a free 30-minute trial first.
Use us for the weekend and keep the weekday madrasah as it is. Two sessions a week dedicated purely to Tajweed correction — recording, listening, fixing one rule at a time — noticeably lifts the standard of everything your child does in the madrasah class during the week.
Yes, where the student is ready. We are careful not to start memorisation before reading and Tajweed are secure, because memorisation built on weak recitation is quickly lost. Where a child is ready we run a structured sabaq, sabqi and manzil cycle with weekly targets and formal revision.
