Bradford is one of the youngest cities in the UK and one of the most Muslim, with the community concentrated in a ring of wards around the city centre — Manningham, Girlington, Great Horton, Heaton, Toller and Little Horton. The overwhelming majority of Bradford’s Muslim families are of Pakistani heritage, much of it Mirpuri, with deep and long-standing ties to the same villages in Azad Kashmir.
Because the community is so settled and the masjid network so dense, most Bradford children are already in some form of Quran class. The pattern we see is children who have been attending for years and can read, but who have never been taught Tajweed rule by rule — and by the time they are ten or eleven, that gap has become a habit. Correcting it is much easier at seven than at fifteen.

Bradford’s Muslim community is predominantly Pakistani and Kashmiri, with a well-established Bangladeshi population and growing numbers of Arab, Afghan and African families. Urdu, Punjabi and Mirpuri are widely spoken at home; teaching is delivered in English with Urdu support on request.
Bradford weekday slots run 4pm–10pm and weekends 10am–8pm. Because so many children here attend madrasah five evenings a week, a lot of Bradford families take the weekend package with us and use it purely for Tajweed correction, keeping the weekday madrasah attendance untouched. That combination works very well and we will help you set it up.

The most effective arrangement is usually the weekend package used purely for Tajweed — two sessions a week where the only job is correcting recitation rule by rule. It does not compete with madrasah, it improves what your child is already doing there.
Yes, and it is the most common thing we are asked to fix in Bradford. The approach is not to start again from the alphabet but to record your child reading something they know well, identify the specific rules being skipped — usually madd, ghunnah and the qalqalah letters — and rebuild from there with targeted practice. Progress is usually audible within a month.
Yes. Qualified female tutors are available for girls and adult sisters, and they are the usual choice for girls from around age seven. Request a female teacher when you book.

Yes, where the child is ready. We are deliberately cautious here: memorisation started before reading and Tajweed are solid tends to be memorisation that is lost quickly. Where a student is ready we run a structured sabaq, sabqi and manzil cycle with weekly targets and formal revision.
