Manningham is where Bradford’s Muslim community began. Families arriving from Pakistan and Azad Kashmir in the 1960s settled around Manningham Lane and the mills, and the ward remains the community’s historic and emotional centre — Lister Mills standing over streets that have been Muslim for three generations. Masjid Bilal serves Manningham and neighbouring Girlington and is one of the area’s best-known institutions.
Because Manningham families have been established here for so long, many of our students are second- and third-generation British Muslims whose parents read Arabic but whose children are growing up primarily in English. Teaching that works for them has to be in English without being shallow.

Bradford’s Muslim community is predominantly Pakistani and Kashmiri, with a well-established Bangladeshi population and growing numbers of Arab, Afghan and African families. Urdu, Punjabi and Mirpuri are widely spoken at home; teaching is delivered in English with Urdu support on request.
Bradford weekday slots run 4pm–10pm and weekends 10am–8pm. Because so many children here attend madrasah five evenings a week, a lot of Bradford families take the weekend package with us and use it purely for Tajweed correction, keeping the weekday madrasah attendance untouched. That combination works very well and we will help you set it up.

The questions we are actually asked by families in Manningham.
English by default, with Urdu support available. Most Manningham children we teach speak English as their first language even where their parents speak Mirpuri or Urdu at home. Teaching Tajweed in a language the child thinks in makes a real difference to how quickly the rules stick.
Not at all — it is the normal pattern, and it is not a failure on anyone’s part. The third generation typically grows up speaking English at home and learns Arabic only through Quran classes. What matters is starting properly, and children in that position often progress faster than expected because there is no half-learned habit to undo.
Yes. We schedule around what you already have rather than competing with it. If your child is at madrasah until 7pm, we will look at 7:30pm or the weekend. If the week is already full, two weekend sessions purely for Tajweed is a genuinely good use of the time.
