New York’s Muslim community is one of the largest and most varied in North America, and it is spread across all five boroughs rather than gathered in one quarter — Bay Ridge and Coney Island Avenue in Brooklyn, Jackson Heights and Astoria in Queens, the Bronx, Staten Island and Manhattan. Between them they hold Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Yemeni, Egyptian, Palestinian, Syrian, West African, Albanian, Bosnian and African-American Muslim families, with a madrasa and weekend-school network to match.
That variety makes finding the right teacher harder, not easier. A family in Bay Ridge, a Bangladeshi family in Jackson Heights and a Yemeni family in the Bronx may want quite different things from a Quran class, and the nearest option is rarely the best one. Because our lessons are online, the choice stops being about who is within driving distance and becomes about who is right for your child.

New York’s Muslim community spans South Asian, Arab, West African, Balkan and African-American families. Urdu, Bengali, Arabic, Wolof, Albanian and Bosnian are spoken at home. Teaching is delivered in clear English, with Arabic content taught through the Qaida method.
Slots run 4pm–9pm Eastern Time on weekdays and 9am–7pm at weekends, which fits the New York school day and after-school commitments. Worth knowing: our teachers work on Pakistan Standard Time, which is 9 to 10 hours ahead of New York depending on daylight saving. That means a 4pm lesson in Brooklyn is the middle of the night for the teacher, so the earlier slots are genuinely limited — the 4pm and 5pm windows are the first to go each term. If your child needs a late slot, tell us early.

Weekday slots run 4pm–9pm Eastern Time and weekend slots 9am–7pm. Our teachers work from Pakistan Standard Time, which is 9 to 10 hours ahead of New York, so the early slots are limited and fill quickly. If you need a 4pm or 5pm lesson, it is worth booking before the term starts.
Yes. Qualified female tutors are available for girls and for adult sisters, and can be requested when you book. If the pairing is not right after the first lesson, tell us and we will change it — getting the match right matters more than anything else in 1-to-1 teaching.
Yes, and it is the arrangement most New York families use. A weekend school with twenty children in a room cannot give your child twenty minutes of individual recitation. We take exactly that part — correct makharij, Tajweed rules and unpicking mistakes — and the weekend school continues to cover the broader curriculum. The two work well together.
Packages start at $35 a month for two weekend classes and go up to $87 a month for five weekday classes, with $47 and $70 options in between. Every new student starts with a completely free 30-minute trial lesson, so you can hear the teaching before paying anything.
Regularly, and New York is one of the places where we teach the most adult beginners. Adults who grew up reading transliteration rather than the Arabic script, and reverts starting from the very beginning, are both completely normal starting points. The first priority is usually correct pronunciation of al-Fatihah and the short surahs needed for salah.
