The Muslim population is notably mixed for a town of its size: Pakistani families alongside a well-established Indian Muslim community, a substantial Somali population, Bangladeshi households and growing numbers of Arab and Afghan families.
Slough’s Muslim families are also unusually mobile. Many parents commute into London or work at Heathrow, which means the working day is long and the window for a child’s Quran lesson is genuinely tight. Slough’s Muslim community includes large Pakistani and Indian Muslim populations alongside a well-established Somali community and a substantial Bangladeshi presence. Urdu, Punjabi, Gujarati and Somali are spoken at home; teaching is delivered in English with Urdu support on request.
Slough weekday slots run 4pm–10pm and weekends 10am–8pm. Because so many parents here commute to London or work at Heathrow, the 7pm, 8pm and 9pm windows are used far more in Slough than in most towns. If your child is too tired by then, a weekend morning slot at 10am or 11am is usually the better answer, and we will say so rather than simply filling the slot you asked for.

Yes — the 8pm and 9pm slots are the ones Slough families most often take, and our weekday slots run to 10pm. For younger children a weekend morning usually works better than a late evening lesson, and we will tell you honestly if we think that is the case for your child.
Yes, and we teach a good number of them. Many Somali parents specifically want their children to be strong in Arabic reading, given how closely Quranic Arabic relates to everyday Arabic. Lessons are in English, with the script taught through the Qaida method so it is learned properly from the start.
Yes. Qualified female tutors are available for girls and for adult sisters and can be requested when you book. They are the usual choice for girls from around age seven.

Yes, and it is the arrangement most Slough families use. Slough has a number of weekend Islamic schools, and we work alongside them rather than competing: we take the individual recitation and Tajweed correction that a group class cannot provide, and the weekend school continues to cover the broader curriculum.
