Blackburn’s Muslim community is predominantly Gujarati Indian Muslim and Pakistani, with Gujarati, Urdu and Punjabi spoken at home. Teaching is delivered in English, with Urdu support available on request.
Blackburn weekday slots run 4pm–10pm and weekends 10am–8pm. Because the Muslim wards sit within a mile or two of each other and of the town centre, nearly every child here can reach maktab on foot, and the after-school window is short. Yes, and for most Bastwell children that is the right default even where Gujarati or Urdu is spoken at home. Teaching Tajweed rules in the language a child actually thinks in makes a real difference to how fast the rules are absorbed. Urdu support is available if you prefer it.
