Rochdale’s Muslim community is concentrated in the wards immediately south-east and east of the town centre — Milkstone and Deeplish above all, with a growing presence in Central Rochdale and the surrounding wards. The community is predominantly Pakistani, much of it Mirpuri, alongside a substantial Bangladeshi population and a smaller Indian Muslim community.

Rochdale’s Muslim community is predominantly Pakistani, with Mirpuri and Punjabi widely spoken at home, alongside a substantial Bangladeshi community and a smaller Indian Muslim population. Teaching is delivered in English with Urdu support available.
Rochdale weekday slots run 4pm–10pm and weekends 10am–8pm. The 5pm and 6pm windows fill first, sitting between the end of the school day and the evening maktab. Two sessions a week dedicated purely to Tajweed — listening, recording, fixing one rule at a time — noticeably lifts the standard of what your child does in the maktab class during the week. Yes, and it is the most common thing we are asked to do in Rochdale. We record your child reading a page they know well, listen back with them, and name the specific rules being skipped — almost always madd, ghunnah and the qalqalah letters. From there it is short, targeted practice, and most parents hear a difference within four to six weeks.
Regularly. Many adults here grew up reading transliteration rather than the Arabic script, or learned surahs by sound without ever learning the letters. Starting the Noorani Qaida as an adult is completely normal, and most adult learners taking three lessons a week are reading short surahs within two to three months.
