Online Quran Classes in Werneth, Oldham

Werneth is the historic centre of Oldham’s Pakistani community, settled since the 1960s and still the densest Pakistani neighbourhood in the borough, with a long-established network of masjids and maktabs. Family ties reach back largely to Azad Kashmir and the Punjab.

Because Werneth families have been established here for three generations, many of our students are children whose parents read Arabic fluently but who themselves are growing up primarily in English. Teaching that works for them has to be in English without being shallow.

The local community

Oldham’s Muslim community is predominantly Bangladeshi, with a large Pakistani population. Sylheti and Bengali are widely spoken at home alongside Urdu and Punjabi. Teaching is delivered in English, with Urdu support available and Bengali-speaking families in mind.

Local timings and how the week fits together

Oldham weekday slots run 4pm–10pm and weekends 10am–8pm. Because the Muslim wards sit within a couple of miles of the town centre, most children here can walk to maktab, and the after-school window fills quickly. If your child is at maktab until 7pm, the 7:30pm or weekend slots are the realistic option — and a weekend-only arrangement used purely for Tajweed works very well alongside it.
